the Croatian non-governmental organizations in Belgrade
The
representatives of the Croatian non-governmental organizations
"Center for peace, non-violence and human rights" from Osijek
(Bojan Lalic) and "Association for peace and human rights"
from Bilje (Gordana Stojanovic) have spoken about their experiences in
elections campaign in Croatia, on a debate held on Saturday, February
12, 2000, in the premises of local community of Palilula. The debate is
just one of the series of debates organized all over Serbia in the past
week, by "Group 484". Apart from the citizens, the
participants also were the representatives from Serbian NGOs advocating
for early elections in Serbia.
The purpose of this series of debates
os to present the ways of encouraging the traditionally non-voting
citizens to take advantage of their voting right. Judsging by the
reactions of the participants, some of the Croatian experiences could be
implemented in Serbia, as well.
